A partir de hoje começarei a mostrar aqui o tratamento que a famigerada Vale dar aos moradores das comunidades que precisam do meio ambiente para sobreviver.
Em abril de 2010, após um dia cansativo de debates, discussões e de visita à comunidade do bairro de São Geraldo, em Belo Horizonte, as pessoas se agarraram a seu colchonete e foram se acomodando.
Eram cerca de 30 homens e mulheres, lideranças de movimentos sociais, sindicatos e organizações do Mato Grosso do Sul, Chile, Moçambique, Canadá, Espírito Santo, Peru, Taiwan, Rio de Janeiro, França…
Este pequeno grupo estava representando milhares de famílias. Famílias de trabalhadores canadenses em greve. Famílias de camponeses peruanos ameaçados por milícias armadas. Famílias chilenas e sul-mato-grossenses impossibilitadas de gozar do direito ao meio ambiente.
Todos lado a lado, ficaram pelo chão da sede da Comissão Pastoral da Terra de Minas Gerais. Para cada colchonete, uma história de luta.
Ao longe, o trem da Vale teimava em passar apitando.
Com grande ânimo e disposição houve outra manifestação, no mesmo período. Foi a Caravana pelo Sistema Norte, que incluiu cidades do Pará e Maranhão. Os participantes saíram de Belém com destino a Barcarena (PA), em uma viagem de pouco mais de uma hora de balsa, seguida de pequeno trecho rodoviário. O grupo foi composto por representantes de sindicatos, movimentos sociais, moradores de comunidades atingidas e ativistas políticos de diversos países e regiões do Brasil.
A programação começou com apresentações de representantes das comunidades da região. Visitaram as comunidades do Acuí e da Luz Divina, ainda em Barcarena. O tom das falas dos participantes mostrou o desrespeito constante da Vale e de suas subsidiárias aos direitos da população local sobre suas terras e modos de vida.
No caso da Vila do Conde, a instalação de vários grandes empreendimentos – sendo os principais a ALUNORTE e a ALBRAS – poluiu praias e colocou em risco de degradação os recursos naturais. Com isso, atividades extrativistas tradicionais na região ficaram impossibilitadas.
Na verdade, a população local sofre até hoje com a dominação capitalista, que trouxe miséria e desumanidade à região que se encontra sob os desmandos da Vale.
