Primeira etapa da reforma do Hospital Carlos Macieira será entregue em maio
O Hospital Carlos Macieira, o antigo Ipem, está passando por uma ampla reforma que o transformará em uma das mais bem equipadas unidades de saúde do Maranhão, visando oferecer os melhores serviços ao servidor público estadual. A primeira etapa da obra será concluída em maio próximo, quando já passará a oferecer serviços de emergência, pediatria, além de 13 novos leitos de UTI e mais apartamentos. Mesmo com a obra, o atendimento na unidade não foi interrompido.
Ao término da reforma, as instalações passarão a contar com 214 leitos e nove leitos de isolamento, dos quais três unidades de UTI (uma geral e duas de alta complexidade, englobando as áreas de neurologia e cardiologia). Atualmente, o hospital dispõe de 89 leitos, além de 12 de UTI. Os recursos da reforma são próprios do Governo do Estado.
A obra está sendo realizada para imprimir um novo modelo ao Carlos Macieira. Na área externa do prédio, já estão instalados cinco grupos geradores de energia elétrica. Com a reforma, a unidade ganhará também cinco novos elevadores. Além disso, todos os ambientes, inclusive os corredores, serão climatizados. Todos os equipamentos serão de última geração, incluindo novos tomógrafos, aparelhos de raios-x e de ressonância magnética, entre outros.
O prédio ganhou novas instalações hidráulicas e elétricas. O setor de emergência, por exemplo, funcionará onde antes havia o ambulatório. Dos cinco andares, dois já foram completamente reformados. No terceiro andar, a instalação de 13 leitos de UTI já estão finalizados, além dos apartamentos. A empresa responsável pelas obras é a Fugita Engenharia Ltda.
Sem interrupção
De acordo com Alice Muniz Borges, diretora do Hospital Carlos Macieira, apesar da reforma, os serviços na unidade de saúde nunca foram paralisados, inclusive o setor de cirurgias emergenciais de alta complexidade, bem como as eletivas de média complexidade. Os tratamentos de prótese de quadril, joelho e ombro e as cirurgias biliodigestivas, abdominais, de tumores de intestino e prostectomias também estão sendo realizados normalmente. Em média, segundo a diretora, são feitas 10 mil consultas médicas por mês.
“O número de atendimentos emergenciais chega hoje a 6.500, mensalmente. Atualmente, são feitos 35 mil exames por mês e os procedimentos na área de diagnose alcançam a marca dos 11 mil mensais”, detalhou Alice Muniz Borges.
De acordo com o secretário de Estado de Planejamento, Orçamento e Gestão, Fábio Gondim, o Hospital Carlos Macieira é hoje um hospital público que oferece excelente custo-benefício. No Maranhão, são 28 mil servidores credenciados, cujos benefícios são extensivos à família, inclusive as cirurgias de alta complexidade. Gondim anunciou que o Carlos Macieira também já está credenciado no Ministério da Educação e Cultura (MEC) para oferecer Residência Médica.
“Desde que assumimos a pasta, temos realizado diversas reuniões com o secretário de Estado da Saúde, Ricardo Murad, com a Cruz Vermelha e os médicos, para diagnosticarmos os problemas por que a unidade passa, a maioria deles decorrentes da atual reforma”, afirmou Gondim.
Para usufruir dos serviços do Hospital Carlos Macieira, os servidores públicos autorizam contribuição em folha no valor de 1% do vencimento. Os serviços odontológicos também estão inclusos. O secretário Fábio Gondin disse ainda que o objetivo da reforma da unidade de saúde é entregar um prédio completamente novo para os servidores públicos.
Ele esclareceu ainda que o Governo do Estado optou por não paralisar o atendimento durante a obra. “Sabemos da importância desse hospital para os servidores públicos e não poderíamos interromper a prestação dos serviços. Quando tudo estiver concluído, teremos uma nova era no Carlos Macieira”, garantiu Fábio Gondim.
