A carreira é apontada hoje como um dos principais motivos para o provável apagão de professores que teremos nas próximas décadas.
Se a situação das escolas está péssima, pode piorar ainda mais se não houver os jovens abracem a carreira docente. É uma espécie de buraco negro no mercado de ensino superior. As Universidades Federais depois que deixou de serem dirigidas pelas ciências sociais e humanas perderam o bonde da história, cuja indissociabilidade em ensino, pesquisa e extensão não existe mais.
Sem as ciências sociais à frente das universidades, são poucos os incentivadores e inovadores, que estimulem o acesso as ciências sociais e humanas. Dessa forma, a cada dia que passa o Brasil ficando sem docentes em várias disciplinas. Por outro lado, o governo também não valoriza o docente como deveria valorizar, com isso a escolha pela docência não tem atrativo algum.
Diante dos fatos, cuja carreira é desvalorizada e a falta de incentivo das universidades para formação em licenciaturas, não irá demorar até começarmos a regredir ainda mais nos resultados já preocupantes da avaliação do ensino básico brasileiro.

Como disse o o ministro do STF, chega de direitos abstratos, falta concretizar ações para que saiamos da laterna do desenvolvimento e é preciso comprometimento de AMBOS os lados.
Não tenho paixão política e sempre fui um defensor da minha classe. Por outro lado, nós que somos, na maioria das ciências sociais e humanas, somos culpados, pois deixamos que outras ciências tomassem conta das Universidades, levando, com isso, as ciências sociais e humanas de fora do contexto. A maioria esmagadora dos Reitores das Universidades brasileiras são de ciências que não condiz com as questões sociais e políticas, com isso deixaram de exercer o pilar das universidades, a indissociabilidade em ensino, pesquisa e extensão. A Universidade perdeu sua referência junto a comunidade. Essas é uma das causas da nossa profissão está nessa situação de absoluto descaso, cujo resultado será esse que coloquei aí.
