No processo que envolve o prefeito de Trizidela do Vale, Jânio Sousa, pesa contra o mesmo a acusação de não realizar processo licitatório, fracionar compras e não comprovar despesas efetuadas com a verba pública do Fundo Municipal de Saúde (FMS), referente ao exercício de 2007, com movimentação de valores na ordem de R$400 mil. Enquanto que a denúncia oferecida pelo MPE contra o prefeito de São Vicente de Ferrer, João Batista Freitas, refere-se a inadimplência deste, que não apresentou a prestação de contas do exercício financeiro de 2009 ao Tribunal de Contas do Estado (TCE). O prefeito alega em sua defesa que apresentou as contas anuais ao TCE, conforme certidão do próprio Tribunal. O relator dos dois processos foi o desembargador Raimundo Melo. Com relação a Jânio Sousa, Melo destacou a exigência do processo licitatório para os serviços contratados pelo gestor municipal, sob pena de caracterizar ato de improbidade administrativa. Observou ainda que o denunciado com o intuito de burlar a licitação, pode ter fragmentado algumas despesas, além de não comprovar o uso devido de recursos do FMS.
