Essas empresas que contribuem para o desequilíbrio ecológico sabem que os órgãos ambientais brasileiros são “insuficientes”, por isso deitam e rolam com a falta de fiscalização, fazendo, as maiores agressões ao meio ambiente.
Diante desse fato, o Ministério Público, ao constatar a existência de um dano ou agressão ambiental, é obrigado a tomar providências. É diferente do juiz que só age mediante provocação. Não há necessidade de provocação no Ministério Público, que pode averiguar e, ao constatar irregularidades, tomar as providências, que podem ser judiciais, administrativas e até criminais. Por isso, espero que o promotor Fernando Barreto, que já mostrou sua eficiência e conhecimento técnico no que tange o meio ambiente, investigue as aberrações que a Vale vem cometendo nos seus canteiros de obra, onde a agressão está causando transtornos aos moradores das comunidades próximas a esses canteiros.
De já agradeço, mais uma vez, pelo empenho do promotor Fernando Barreto, que reverteu a multa aplicada a Vale na reforma da Praça Gonçalves Dias. Contudo, seria necessário que mudassem a legislação brasileira para esses crimes ambientais, pois assim não teríamos mais agressões por parte dos usurpadores do meio ambiente.
