Como jornalista, tem redigido, há mais de quatro décadas, farto material – principalmente artigos de opinião – que documenta sua compreensão privilegiada daquele momento da história brasileira. Colaborador passado e atual de grandes veículos de imprensa, a exemplo do Jornal do Brasil (RJ) e do Diário do Comércio (SP), é autor, entre outros, de A revolução conservadora (Topbooks, 1990) e Minas (Armazém de Ideias, 2002).
Aristóteles Drummond também é membro do PEN Clube do Brasil e do Sindicato de Escritores do Rio de Janeiro. Foi conselheiro e diretor da Light (Companhia Energética do Rio de Janeiro) e é vice-presidente da Associação Comercial do Rio de Janeiro.
